Steppenwolf and the Hall of Colors — A Lucid Dream

A lucid dream in five parts.

I’ve been sharing my dreams on my website for a while now. I even have a private journal where i’ve saved others. But i’ve decided to share a few here because I think people will get a kick out of them. As a writer, I can only say that even for my wild imagination, I can’t make this shit up.

Night/Morning — 2/10/2022 to 2/11/2022

This morning I had a series of lucid dreams. Each one more lucid than the next.

I slept for a few hours, then woke up and was unable to go back to sleep. But in short bursts I did manage to get some shut eye and was fully conscious throughout.

According to WebMD, one method of lucid dreaming is:

Wake-back-to-bed. You wake up after 5 hours of sleep, stay awake briefly, and then go back to bed to try to enter an REM sleep period.

I’ve never read any in depth studies, books or tutorials on how to lucid dream. But for me, it always seems to be during a period of semi-insomnia. Where even if I can get my body to relax enough to sleep, i’m still awake in a sense in the dream.

This morning I had no less than two or three separate dreams, which i’ll explain in detail below. I’ve included as much detail as I could remember.

Dream 1:

The first dream was more of a series of words coming in and out of focus on a dark background. I read some words, as they shifted around and thought to myself, “I’m going to remember these when I wake up”. Of course I didn’t.

Wordle-inspired? Possibly.

Dream 2

I’m on one floor of a dorm-style apartment building.

This has been the setting of at least one other dream in the past, if not more.

I walk in and out of rooms that weren’t my own. I think I saw a few people going to and fro.

Some doors were closed. Others slightly ajar.

Where the doors were open, I peaked in.

I remember glancing by an exit i’ve seen in another dream and having that install recall of that other place and time.

The exact same floorplan.

Such a weird feeling of having those sorts of memories within dreams.
